The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for providing strategic leadership to advance the vision, mission and core values of the NQA. The CEO will define, communicate and execute the approved strategic plan in close collaboration with the NQA Council, NQA management and strategic stakeholders. The CEO will engage stakeholders across educational institutions, industry sectors, and government to foster an inclusive and dynamic approach to qualifications management that promotes higher education and training standards in support of the achievement of national development agenda. The CEO will be accountable for the sustainability and overall success of the NQA by ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance, and upholding sound governance- and business principles and practices.
Qualification
- Minimum QualificationsA recognised qualification at Master’s level (NQF Level 9) in education, human development and/or public administration, or a related field. A recognised qualification at NQF Level 10 will be an added advantage.
- Special Requirements• Experience in the field of education quality assurance.
• Ability to foster strong work relationships with other quality assurance regulatory authorities and key stakeholders in the education and training sector.
• Assists NQA in implementing existing, new and/or amended regulatory requirements.
• Assesses and advises the NQA on the impact of regulatory developments.
• Provides input or comment about the drafting of proposed regulatory requirements.
Experience
- Minimum Experience• Minimum of eight (8) years of executive leadership or senior management experience, with an understanding
of accreditation, the National Qualifications Framework (NQF), and governance processes in the education
and training sector.
• Proven track record of strategic, personnel, and financial management and policy development.
• Business acumen, exposure, and experience in risk management, compliance with applicable laws and regulations, human development, corporate governance, and administration are required.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and performance analysis.
• Experience in the field of quality assurance in education and training would be a definite advantage.
