The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible, together with the NQA Council and Management, to provide overall strategic leadership, management, administration, policy coordination, and compliance to ensure the effective governance and operational excellence of the NQA. The CEO will strategically lead the NQA in alignment with its statutory mandate, vision, and mission by defining and communicating strategic goals and overseeing their execution. Additionally, the CEO will drive institutional and cultural transformation, ensuring that regulations and policies are effectively implemented and adhered to across the institution.
Qualification
  • Minimum QualificationA recognised qualification in Education, Training, Public Administration, or another relevant field at NQF Level 9. A recognised qualification at NQF Level 10 will be an advantage.
Experience
  • Minimum ExperienceA Minimum of ten (10) years of senior management experience, of which five (5) years must have been at the executive management level. Experience in the field of quality assurance in education and training would be an advantage.
Skills
  • Ability to develop, communicate, and implement a long-term strategic plan that aligns with NQA's mandate.
  • Strong working knowledge of policy formulation, planning, and execution to ensure effective regulatory compliance and governance.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with the NQA Council, employees, government entities, and strategic stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead, inspire, and motivate professional teams while fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and performance excellence.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and other relevant digital tools to enhance operational efficiency and decision-making.
  • A sound understanding of financial management principles, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure business sustainability.
  • Ability to drive creativity, foster innovation, and implement solutions that enhance institutional effectiveness.
  • Strong advisory skills with a deep understanding of compliance frameworks, risk management, and value-driven decision-making.
  • Ability to engage and influence key stakeholders while championing initiatives that align with the organisation’s strategic direction.
